Inyoni Creek residents pulled together to showcase their beautiful village and gracious hospitality to members of the surrounding community in the first week of February.

Ten of the gardens at the Rand Aid retirement village were opened to members of the public, as part of the Gardens of the Golden City initiative held on February 4 and 5.

“It was a wonderful weekend with approximately 350 people visiting our gardens. We received many compliments,” says Complex Manager Jenny Tonkin.

“Members of our Functions Committee, who regularly host supper evenings for fellow residents, and Dugald Paterson, a founding a member of The Naked Chefs, together with many other volunteers from Inyoni Creek, got together to provide a most enjoyable day for our visitors. In addition to a craft market showcasing the talents of residents, there was a tea garden serving delicious home-made scones with cream, and hot dogs.”
