Thornhill Manor fete a real crowd puller

Thornhill (640x418)Thornhill Manor held its Family Fun Day and Fete on Saturday, October 3. “What a successful day. The weather was great and the sun was shining. The atmosphere was electric with crowds coming in from around the area,” says Thornhill Manor deputy manager Jackie Scott.

The hall of the Rand Aid Association retirement village was jam packed, with people thronging to many popular stalls, including the cake stall which was full of wonderful things to eat and sweet things to enjoy.  The ‘Cooksisters’ were on form and even had a chocolate fountain with marshmallows for dipping. Pictured are Janet Sage (stall convener), Priscilla Randall, Carol Olive, Mickey Simpson and Yvonne Ciapparelli. All proceeds from the fete are banked into the village fund, which is used on projects that benefit the village and its residents.
