Important TB information distributed to mine workers via a Z-CARD®

LiveMoya, an integrated behaviour change consultancy that specialises in creating and implementing projects that improve the quality of people’s lives, recently designed a Z-CARD® for its client, the World Bank, to distribute to mine workers to educate them about Tuberculosis (TB).

The Z-CARD®, which is as small as a credit card when folded, provides South African and SADC mine workers with important information about TB, how it is spread, risk factors, what to do if they think they have TB and how they can claim compensation if they have tested positive for TB.

The card has been produced in English and 5 African languages to ensure message absorption, and encourages mine workers to get tested.

“We selected the Z-CARD® as opposed to traditional media because it provided us with a creative communication format to work with. The Z-CARD® holds a large amount of key information and is easy to carry around and refer to when required. We also found the Z-CARD® to be very effective and popular amongst the communities we worked with,” says LiveMoya’s Roxanne Govindasamy.
